I was born in Cushing, Oklahoma, and was raised in Muskogee, Oklahoma, graduating high school there. Accepting the Lord at a local revival meeting was the beginning of my walk with God. This led to my becoming the vice-president of Teens for Christ at Muskogee High School. Developing an interest and aptitutude for art, I went to OSU Tech in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and graduated from its Commercial Arts program.
I married a young lady named Linda Kingston, who was serving in a church in Okmulgee. Two children, Dennis and Nick, were born to us. Working in the art field took us to California and back to Oklahoma. We owned our own business for over sixteen years. All during that time span, we were active in some sort of ministry. In every church we have attended, we have taught, actively participated in drama ministries, led music, and participated in a variety of other ministerial outreaches.
In the early 1990's, we received two years of lay ministry Biblical counseling training from Haven Ministries of Tulsa, Oklahoma. This led to an invitation to work as Associate Pastors at Calvary Temple Assembly of God in Tulsa. Working on ministerial certification, licensure, and ordination status with the Assemblies of God Berean and Global University gave me more training for the work of the Lord.
